How to Save Water

If you believe that water is a scarce commodity on the earth, and if you really want to save water, you must learn how to use it wisely. I have seen many people who argue that they are living in an area where there is plenty of rain fall every year and therefore, you do not bother to save water. However, they are not aware that for getting water into a running tap at their homes requires pumping of water from reservoirs to their buildings and then pumping of water from underground storage tanks to their homes.

And, pumping of water involves large amount of electricity or fuel, saving which is again a need of the day. Besides using the water wisely, you can save water by checking and repairing the plumbing joints, leaking water taps, showers and faucets, leaking toilets, cutting back on shower time, turning off the faucets while brushing the teeth, washing hands and washing the dishes, optimal use of washing machines, avoiding frequent clothes change and thereby generating less laundry loads, and avoiding flushing the toilets when not warranted, to name the few.
